He is one of the most popular playwrights in the last decades of the Costa Rican Theater. He was born in San José, Costa Rica in 1959, but he grew up in the province of Alajuela.
Garcia, 30, extradited earlier this week from Mexico, brought some level of comfort and closure to the widow of Deputy David March David March (born 25 July 1979) is a professional rugby league player for the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats. He plays at hooker.

He has a twin brother called Paul March who also plays for the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.
of Saugus, who was shot April 29, 2002.

``Today was the beginning of some measure of justice,'' said March's widow, Teri. ``Sitting in that courtroom almost seemed unbelievable.''

The Pomona courtroom was filled with family, fellow deputies, officers from other departments and media awaiting Garcia's arraignment A criminal proceeding at which the defendant is officially called before a court of competent jurisdiction, informed of the offense charged in the complaint, information, indictment, or other charging document, and asked to enter a plea of guilty, not guilty, or as otherwise permitted  on murder a charge that could bring him life in prison without the possibility of parole.

The arraignment was continued until Jan. 25 at the request of Public Defender public defender, governmental official who represents indigent persons accused of crime. U.S. Supreme Court decisions expanding the right to counsel to pretrial proceedings and holding that a person cannot be sentenced to even one day in jail unless a lawyer was  Grady Russell, who is representing Garcia.

A Mexican national who had previously been deported four times, Garcia is accused of fatally shooting March during a traffic stop in Irwindale.

Authorities said Garcia fled to Mexico that night and remained a fugitive until his arrest last February. He was returned to the U.S. only after prosecutors agreed not to seek the death penalty if he is convicted.
