SUSAN BOHN NAMED CORPORATE TRAINING AND COMMUNICATIONS HEAD AT PNC BANK

 PITTSBURGH, Jan. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Thomas H. O'Brien, chairman and chief executive officer of PNC Bank Corp. (NYSE: PNC), today announced the appointment of Susan B. Bohn as senior vice president and manager of Corporate Training and Communications.
 In her new position, Bohn will assume responsibility for all training and development activities for PNC Bank in addition to directing the public relations functions for the corporation and will serve on the corporation's management committee. "Susan has played a major role in bringing our Pennsylvania banking operations together and in establishing our common identity as PNC Bank," O'Brien said. "Her new responsibilities for training will be pivotal in fulfilling our intention to become an exceptional marketing company."
 Bohn joined PNC Bank, Pittsburgh, from Mellon Bank in 1986 as director of training and communications for Retail Banking. She played an active role in the creation of the first regional banking center at Robinson Town Centre, near Pittsburgh International Airport.
 She was elected vice president in 1986 and in 1991 was asked to manage a comprehensive study of PNC Bank's bank operations in Pennsylvania.
 In early 1992 she assumed responsibility for internal communications and was named to head the public relations department later that year.
 Bohn earned her Ph.D. in language communications from the University of Pittsburgh and was an adjunct faculty member of Carlow College. She is a member of the board of directors of the Pittsburgh Public Theater and a past member of numerous other community organizations.
