 OF THE COCA-COLA COMPANY
 ATLANTA, Dec. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- The Board of Directors of The Coca-Cola Company (NYSE: KO) today elected Susan B. King as a director of the Company.
 Ms. King is president of Steuben, the leading U.S. manufacturer of clear lead crystal and a subsidiary of Corning, Incorporated.
 Ms. King began her career in a variety of public and non-profit positions in Washington, D.C. In 1978, she was named by President Carter to chair the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, an independent regulatory agency with broad jurisdiction over consumer and recreational products. She served in that capacity until 1981, when she accepted an invitation to become a Fellow at the Institute of Politics at Harvard University.
 Before being named president of Steuben in 1987, Ms. King served as vice president and director of corporate communications for Corning, directing corporate press relations, public relations, advertising, design and employee communications.
 A native of Atlanta, Ms. King is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Duke University. She now serves Duke as a member of the executive committee of the Board of Trustees and is also a member and former Chairman of the Board of Visitors of Duke's Institute of Policy Science and Public Affairs. She currently serves on the board of the Fifth Avenue Association, the Committee of 200 (an international organization of female chief executives), the American Quality Foundation, the National Consumers League and a number of other non-profit organizations.
