SURVEY REVEALS MIXED RESULTS; Patients score Royal hospital food badly.

Byline: LIZA WILLIAMS

FOOD at Liverpool's main hospital has been rated among the worst in England for a second year running.

One in four people who answered the annual inpatient survey by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) ranked the Royal Liverpool's food as "poor".

One in three described it as "fair".

The results put it within the bottom 20% of hosital Trusts.

But the hospital said today it has completely overhauled the way meals are cooked and hopes next year's results will be positive.

The survey asked 72,000 people in England about their hospital stay.

The results looked at all aspects of care, from cleanliness Cleanliness
