The earliest stethoscope, devised by the French physician R. T. H. . Maj. Scott Hughes, a test pilot with the 419th Flight Test Squadron at Edwards, enters medical school at Dartmouth this fall with the ultimate goal of becoming a flight surgeon - a dream he's held since he was 15. ``I know some people may think I'm crazy "I'm Crazy" is a short story written by J. D. Salinger in 1945 for Collier's magazine. From all his short stories involving Holden Caulfield, this one is most similar to Catcher In The Rye, as it simply recounts well-known scenes with Mr. , but this is something I just have to do,'' said Hughes, an Air Force officer for 13 years. Hughes said he had considered going to medical school when he entered the Air Force Academy in 1985 but didn't know how to go about it. At 18, becoming a pilot seemed more appealing, he added. Immediately after graduation, Hughes entered undergraduate pilot training, then went on to fly F-111s and B-2s. In December 1997, he moved his family to Edwards Air Force Base where he attended the U.S. Air Force Test Pilot School. Since his graduation, he has been flying flight test missions on B-1 and B-2 bombers. In 1995, he said he began evaluating his options to decide whether it was possible to become a flight surgeon after becoming an Air Force pilot. He began taking prerequisite classes, studying for the medical school admissions test and submitting applications to medical schools. He was accepted at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire New Hampshire, one of the New England states of the NE United States. It is bordered by Massachusetts (S), Vermont, with the Connecticut R. forming the boundary (W), the Canadian province of Quebec (NW), and Maine and a short strip of the Atlantic Ocean (E). . While Hughes prepared himself academically, his family began putting as much money as possible into savings. As a medical student, Hughes will receive only a small stipend. To attend school, Hughes will separate from the Air Force. He will serve as a second lieutenant in the Air Force Reserve while he goes to school under an Armed Forces Health Profession scholarship. Once he successfully completes his medical training - in 2006 - Hughes plans to reenter re·en·ter also re-en·ter v. re·en·tered, re·en·ter·ing, re·en·ters v.tr. 1. To enter or come in to again. 2.
