SURFING THE TUBE.

Byline: TOM HOFFARTH

TODAY

For $12.99 plus $3 shipping, composer David Barrett offers a personally signed copy of his CD, ``One Shining Moment,'' which CBS has recycled as its theme music to the NCAA basketball tournament every year since 1987. It could be worse. The song could be ``Eye of the Tiger.'' College basketball: NCAA men's tournament final: Kansas vs. Syracuse, Channel 2, 6 p.m.; Baseball: Arizona at Dodgers, Fox Sports Net 2, 1 p.m. (replayed at 7 p.m.)

TUESDAY

Quipped Mavs coach Don Nelson after the Lakers tore up his team 100-89 last week in Dallas: ``I think they have their playoff posture in mind now.'' Maybe Dirk's boys get to see the Lakers posturing again tonight. Just don't get too comfy with any 20-plus-point leads in the fourth quarter. NBA: Dallas at Lakers, Fox Sports Net, 7:30 p.m.; Baseball: Arizona at Dodgers, Fox Sports Net 2, 7 p.m.; College basketball: NCAA women's tournament final: Tennessee/Duke vs. UConn/Texas, ESPN, 5:30 p.m.

WEDNESDAY

The run for the Stanley Cup begins tonight, and can anyone really bet against the Mighty Ducks after what happened last year to the Angels? NHL: Conference quarterfinals game 1, ESPN and ESPN2 ESPN2 - Entertainment & Sports Programmin Network 2 (sister station of ESPN), 4 p.m.; NBA: Clippers at Milwaukee, Fox Sports Net 2, 5 p.m.; Minnesota at Seattle, ESPN, 7 p.m.; Baseball: Arizona at Dodgers, Fox Sports Net 2, 1 p.m.; Seattle at Angels, ESPN2, 7 p.m.

THURSDAY

Love her or loathe her, Martha Burk has done something for televised sports that no one has been able to achieve in decades: Make it commercial-free. Thus, we present to you The Masters, uninterrupted, except for some minor protesting outside the gates. Golf: The Masters first round, USA Network, 1 p.m. (repeated at 8 p.m.); Baseball: Angels at Seattle, Channel 9, 7 p.m.; Dodgers at San Francisco, Fox Sports Net 2, 7 p.m.; St. Louis at Colorado, ESPN, noon; NBA: Sacramento at Lakers, TNT, 7 p.m.; Philadelphia at Boston, TNT, 4:30 p.m.; NHL: Conference quarterfinals game 1, ESPN2, 6 p.m.

FRIDAY

Assuming the shot he took off his pitching arm heals right, Jared Washburn gets another shot at Oakland and John Halama. Baseball: Oakland at Angels, Fox Sports Net, 7 p.m.; Dodgers at San Francisco, Fox Sports Net 2, 7 p.m.; Atlanta at Florida, TBS, 4:30 p.m.; Pittsburgh at Chicago, WGN, noon; Golf: The Masters second round, USA Network, 1 p.m. (replayed at 8 p.m.); NBA: Clippers at Minnesota, Channel 5, 5 p.m.; Orlando at Indiana, ESPN, 5 p.m.; Denver at Sacramento, ESPN, 7:30 p.m.; NHL: Conference quarterfinals game 2, ESPN2, 4 and 7 p.m.

SATURDAY

Even though Pacific Bell shortened its company name to SBC, it has graciously allowed the Giants one more year to call their home field Pac Bell Park, because apparently the name has come to mean so much to the surrounding community. Isn't that special? Give the team credit for resisting the temptation to sell off the naming rights to McCovey Cove. You've got to think McDonald's is just waiting for the chance to dive in. Baseball: Dodgers at San Francisco, Channel 13, 1 p.m.; Oakland at Angels, Fox Sports Net, 7 p.m.; NBA: Clippers at Denver, Channel 5, 6 p.m.; NHL: Conference quarterfinals game 2, Channel 7, noon; Conference quarterfinal game 2, ESPN2, 4 p.m.; College hockey: NCAA final, ESPN, 4 p.m.; College baseball: UCLA at USC, Fox Sports Net 2, 1 p.m.; MLS: Galaxy at Dallas, ESPN2, 1 p.m.; Golf: The Masters third round, Channel 2, 12:30 p.m.; Boxing: Marco Antonio Barrera vs. Kevin Kelley, pay per view, 6 p.m.

SUNDAY

``It's always neat to be a part of history, to be part of things that no one's ever done, ever,'' Tiger Woods was telling a TV reporter the other day about his chances of winning The Masters three years in a row. ``I've been lucky enough to have had that taste a few times in the U.S. Junior, U.S. Amateur, and a few of the majors I've had some nice records. But to win three in a row ... that's pretty sweet.'' Neat? Sweet? Those are the best adjectives the kid can come up with? Try epic, phenomenal, incomparable and just-plain spooky. Golf: The Masters final round, Channel 2, 11:30 a.m.; NASCAR: Winston Cup race at Martinsville, Va., Channel 11, 9:30 a.m.; Arena Football: Arizona at Avengers, Channel 4, noon; NHL: Conference quarterfinal game 3, ESPN, noon and ESPN2, 4 p.m.; NBA: Lakers at Portland, Channel 7, 12:30 p.m.; Baseball: Oakland at Angels, Fox Sports Net, noon; Dodgers at San Francisco, ESPN, 5 p.m.

A member of the Women Against Martha Burk holds an anti-Martha Burk button Sunday at a rally and barbecue in downtown Augusta, Ga., in support of Hootie Johnson, chairman of the Augusta National Golf Club. The group was formed by local Augusta women in response to Burk's call for the club to have female members. The club will host The Masters this week.
