SurfControl (LONDON: SRF) has unveiled the newest version of its e-mail filtering software to protect enterprises against the full array of e-mail borne threats that are rapidly escalating in volume, sophistication and harm potential.

SurfControl E-mail Filter 5.0 offers unique protection against phishing attacks, spyware and fraud by leveraging SurfControl's industry leading URL database in its filtering capabilities. It provides heightened anti-spam defense through an enhanced Anti-Spam Agent that employs unique e-mail protection, including a combination of digital fingerprints, heuristics, neural networks and LexiRules. The URL database has been built and constantly updated through a combination of artificial intelligence and human review. New Spam Protection -- SurfControl's Anti-Spam Agent (ASA) technology is built on the work of the company's global team of content experts who track, monitor and categorize more than 10,000 e-mail threats every day into the industry's premier spam database. The ASA now incorporates four unique technologies that include:

* Digital Fingerprints -- The ASA's Digital Fingerprints classify spam threats in 17 categories to filter not only spam, but also junk e-mail, allowing each customer to create their own spam definition.

SurfControl also provides 10 dictionary language packs, featuring pre- existing content dictionaries in English, Spanish, French, Dutch, Italian,
