SUPERVISORS RAISE COUNTY PARK FEES.

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors is the five member governing board of Los Angeles County, California. Members of the board of supervisors are elected by district, the current members as of April 2006 are:
  • District 1: Gloria Molina, Democrat
 on Tuesday increased fees at county parks after recent surveys showed increases were warranted, but a proposed $1 dog entry fee was withdrawn for further study.

Under the new fees, recreational vehicle campsite fees will increase 25 percent, from $12 a day to $15, and the cost of renting a grassy area for a party or group cookout will increase from $125 to $175 per acre per day.

The county has parks in Castaic, Tujunga, La Crescenta, Sylmar, as well as the Santa Clarita Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. ``This is an update of our fee schedule,'' Department of Parks and Recreation Director Timothy Gallagher said. ``Many of the fees have not been updated in at least 10 years.''

Gallagher said he withdrew a proposed a $1 dog entry fee at county regional parks for further study.

 and Frank G. Bonelli Regional Park Frank G. Bonelli Regional Park is a synthetic (i.e., man-made) recreation park in San Dimas, California of Los Angeles County. It is near the Orange Freeway (California 57) and the San Bernardino Freeway (Interstate 10).  in San Dimas. Currently, those fees range from $50 to $1,600 per day, and the new range will be $50 to $5,000 a day.

The fee for baseball field lighting will increase from $15 per hour to $19 per hour. Day camp and after-school program fees, which now range from $25 to $70 per child per week, will increase to $25 to $100.

The maximum fee for weddings and receptions at arboreta and garden facilities, now $2,000, will rise to $2,500.
