 Lopez fell two yards short of the goal line on a fourth-down run with 17 seconds remaining as visiting Canoga Park held on for a 14-7 victory Friday in a Sunset Six League game.

It was two big plays by Jose Martinez that made the difference for Canoga Park (4-1, 1-0). The first was a 60-yard pass from Erle Eddy to Martinez that gave Canoga Park a 7-0 lead in the first quarter.

Martinez also scored on a 99-yard return on the second-half kickoff to give the Hunters a 14-0 lead.
