SUN NAMES VICE PRESIDENTS

 PHILADELPHIA, May 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Sun Company (NYSE: SUN) officials recently announced two appointments within the senior management group:
 -- J. Greg Driscoll has been named vice president, Chemicals, with overall responsibility for Sun's chemicals business line. Previously, Driscoll was vice president, Branded Marketing & Development, with responsibility for marketing of the Sunoco and Atlantic brands, along with advertising, business development and Sun's Clean Fuels Program. Driscoll joined Sun in 1965, and has held a variety of technical and management assignments since that time, including area sales manager, and manager of marketing operations-both in Wholesale Marketing. More recently, he served as director of Business Development and Strategic Planning and director, Planning/New Product Development.
 -- Vincent J. De Laurentis has been appointed to succeed Driscoll as vice president, Branded Marketing and Development. DeLaurentis previously was manager of Convenience Food Marketing with responsibility for all convenience store marketing activities for Sunoco and Atlantic. De Laurentis joined Sun in 1988 as part of Sun's acquisition of Atlantic Petroleum Corp. He began his career with ARCO in 1972 and held a variety of marketing positions. Following ARCO's 1985 withdrawal from the East Coast, De Laurentis remained with the newly formed Atlantic Petroleum Corp. His prior asssignments include responsibility for Atlantic's A-Plus convenience store program and manager of Atlantic Marketing's Philadelphia Division.
 Both appointments are effective immediately.
 Sun Company, headquartered in Philadelphia, operates five domestic refineries and is engaged principally in retail gasoline marketing in the Northeastern quadrant of the United States, petrochemical sales throughout the United States, sales of lubricants worldwide, and the operation of domestic pipelines and terminals. Sun also produces crude oil and natural gas internationally and is 55 percent owner of Suncor, a fully integrated Canadian oil company.
