SUMMIT AND ALLERGAN ANNOUNCE CO-PROMOTION ARRANGEMENT

 WALTHAM, Mass., Sept. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Summit Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: BEAM) and Allergan, Inc. (NYSE: AGN) announced today that they have entered into an agreement to co-promote worldwide, on a trial basis, the Summit OmniMed(TM) Holmium laser system and various Allergan products. Under a financing plan, the co-promotion agreement will provide added value to the customers of both companies' products.
 "This agreement with Summit is another step in our strategic direction to identify partners and strategic alliances," said Allergan President and CEO William C. Shepherd.

 Summit Technology, Inc. has established a leadership position in designing manufacturing and marketing ophthalmic refractive laser systems where applications have been developed for the treatment of common vision disorders such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, glaucoma and certain corneal irregularities due to disease or injury.
