Fourth-graders at the school wrote essays about the value of saving money. Maria Palacios' essay took first place. In it, she wrote that it's important to save money because you'll need it to buy necessities such as a house, food and clothes. She also pointed out the importance of keeping charities in mind. ``When you help other people with money, they might help you when you need it,'' she wrote.
