``I'd never even thought of voting before this,'' she added. ``Now I think I should at least give it a try.''

City Clerk In the United States, a City Clerk is an elected or appointed official who is responsible as the official keeper of the municipal records. In some places, the Clerk may be known as the "Village Clerk" or "Town Clerk".  Judie Sarquiz, running unopposed for a second term, said that was the reaction she'd hoped to get when she opened the volunteer pool to minors after state law allowed it.

``It's just another way to get kids involved in the process,'' she said. ``You want to start a good habit good habit Healthy habit Clinical medicine A behavior that is beneficial to one's physical or mental health, often linked to a high level of discipline and self-control Examples Regular exercise, consumption of alcohol in moderation–if at all, a properly  at an early age. Voters turned out to fill three seats on the City Council, two seats on the Burbank Unified School District A unified school district is a school district which includes both primary school (kindergarten through middle school or junior high) and high school (grades 9-12). Patrick McHugh, a polling place inspector who has worked elections for 25 years, said voter turnout has traditionally been low, especially for municipal elections.

``You just don't see the kind of enthusiasm that we expect as workers,'' he said. ``Some days we'll sit here all day and 20 people will come in. That's disappointing.''

Hovik Rostomyan, 18, said he volunteered to work at the Calvary polling place because he thought it would be a good experience to see how it all worked.

But like many of the 55,689 registered voters in Burbank, the senior didn't cast his vote.

``Maybe in April,'' he said, alluding to a possible April 10 runoff.
