These kids know what it's like to go to school. This program shows them what college life is like outside the classroom: the clubs, the social activities, the cultural diversity. ``A lot of the students from USC have talked to them about scholarship opportunities. Some of those who come from families where no one has ever gone to college, this is a chance to meet someone who is really in college and can give them a real perspective on it.'' West said USC is trying to encourage minority and low-income students to apply to USC, so everyone involved in this program gets some kind of benefit. ``Some of the college students last year had a blast and said they thought they gained more out of the experience than the elementary school students did,'' she said.
