The Hart High School Millennium CD features all original music from nine student artists and a collection of excerpts on student's thoughts about the year 2000.

``I thought of this to help raise money for the school,'' said Angela Hofstedt, a senior and president of the FBLA FBLA Future Business Leaders of America

. ``I wanted something different.''

The CD is being sold on campus and in select stores around the Santa Clarita Valley The Santa Clarita Valley is the valley of the Santa Clara River in Southern California. It stretches through Los Angeles County and Ventura County. Its main population center is the city of Santa Clarita. The valley was part of the 48,612-acre (19,672. . The price is $8.

FBLA club members who spearheaded the project began by auditioning students to be included in the CD. They later worked with a local studio who helped put the CD together.

``We learned a lot about business and the music industry,'' Hofstedt said.

Friends and fellow students Ever Fecske, 15, a sophomore, and senior Ashley Schmow, 18, are on one of the featured tracks.

and had help with the music from their vocal teacher Kris Feldman.

``It's really cool,'' Fecske said. ``It took three months to get it perfect. It's a long process.''

Though the girls have produced their own demo music before, this is the first time that they've done an original song.

``Everyone can hear you,'' Fecske said.

The album has been played over speakers during student breaks.

Both of the girls hope to continue into a career involving music.

``It's the only thing I love to do,'' Fecske said.

Also featured on the album is Glen Moyes, 18, a senior and techno techno

He has an instrumental piece featured on the album and also designed the album's cover.

``I think it turned out pretty well,'' Moyes said. ``It was nice doing music for the school instead of just myself.''

Moyes said he may end up with a music apprenticeship apprenticeship, system of learning a craft or trade from one who is engaged in it and of paying for the instruction by a given number of years of work. The practice was known in ancient Babylon, Egypt, Greece, and Rome, as well as in modern Europe and to some extent  position because of work he did for the album.

Linda Fladby, the club adviser, was highly impressed with what the kids have done.

``They started with an idea and now they have a finished product,'' Fladby said. ``I thought it was creative and entrepreneurial of the students.''
