Conducting will be Eric Fried, an associate professor of music at Texas Tech University and the older brother of Greg Fried. With a paying crowd of as many as 300 expected, the young musicians could be forgiven a case of nerves. Yet several who also will perform solos said they are eager for the opportunity to perform in public. ``The more times you perform you get used to it,'' Kelly Bunch said of the pressure. ``With judges, they hear all the bad stuff. This audience will be fine.'' Kelly, with eight years on violin, will perform a work by Kreisler as the last solo before the finale featuring all the musicians. Derek Chang, with two years on violin, and Howard Chou, with only a year on the instrument, also seemed loose and ready to perform the concert's only duet, which will be a work by Mozart. ``We two are about the same. He's there to cover up my mistakes,'' Derek said with a chuckle. The musicians, though, know there's no place to hide Wednesday.
