Against Northridge, Garrett's son, Joseph, was the only Canyon batter who managed to hit the ball out of the infield when he led off the bottom of the first with a flyout to center field. After No. 2 hitter Joe Diehl got aboard on a catcher's interference play and advanced to second on a wild pitch, no other Canyon player advanced past first, as Northridge right-hander Anthony Losurdo was perfect -- except for Steven Farnworth reaching first on an infield error in the second inning in·ning

Canyon Country right-hander Farnworth pitched three innings and walked just one but allowed two home runs and didn't get much help defensively, as Canyon Country committed seven errors -- including three times committing two errors on the same play.
