STRANGE TWINS IN FULL SWING EX-SCV STANDOUTS MAKE IMPACT.

Former Valencia High tennis standouts Alexa and Cassie Strange concluded a successful fall season Saturday for the Marist College Marist College is a private liberal arts college of 180 acres (72 ha), located on the east bank of the Hudson River near Poughkeepsie, New York, on US 9. Cassie Strange, the All-Santa Clarita Valley Player of the Year last season, also reached the singles final at the Georgetown event, losing 6-4, 6-4 to George Washington's Kendall Swanson.

The Stranges -- who helped the Vikings win 55 matches during their three-year varsity careers, including Foothill League titles every season -- appeared on their way to another victory Sept. 30 at the Bucknell Invitational. But Cassie was forced to default her singles match because of an illness. As a result, the twins also were forced to withdraw from the doubles competition.

Marist is scheduled to return to action in February, kicking off a 10-week slate that concludes with the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC, pronounced "mack") is a college athletic conference which operates in the northeastern United States.
