STORAGETEK SIGNS MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR AGREEMENT WITH AT&T
LOUISVILLE, Colo., Aug. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Storage Technology Corp. (NYSE: STK) (StorageTek), a Fortune 500 company which has a regional headquarters in Atlanta with 500 employees, has awarded AT&T (NYSE: T) a four-year, $9.2 million contract to provide a customized network for domestic and international calling.
The agreement will link 122 of StorageTek's 140 locations nationwide with AT&T's Software Defined Network (SDN). Under the contract, StorageTek, which makes data storage equipment, will be able to centralize its billing systems for long distance calls made at its manufacturing, sales and service locations across the country. With AT&T SDN Cards, StorageTek employees can save an estimated 25 percent on domestic and international calls when they're away from the office.
"The new contract expands upon an agreement that originated in StorageTek's Southern Region," said Don Davis, StorageTek's regional manager based in Atlanta. "I know that AT&T will always look out for StorageTek's best interests, and you can't put a dollar value on that service."
"We appreciate the strong vote of confidence by StorageTek," said Ron Beck, AT&T National Account Manager for StorageTek. "We'll continue to look for innovative ways to help StorageTek manage its telecommunications needs."
