STEELWORKERS ANNOUNCE AGREEMENT IN PRINCIPLE ON NEW CONTRACT WITH USX CORPORATION

 PITTSBURGH, Nov. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- The United Steelworkers of America (USWA) announced today it had reached agreement in principle with USX Corp. on a new 5-1/2 year contract covering 15,000 union members.
 Andrew V. Palm, director of USWA District 15 and the union's chief negotiator with USX, said details were being withheld pending a meeting of the full union negotiating committee, composed of local union presidents and grievance committee chairpersons at USX facilities in Fairfield, Ala.; Gary, Ind.; Braddock, Pa.: Clairton, Pa.; Dravosburg, Pa.; Fairless Hills, Pa.; and Mount Iron, Minn.
 The agreement must be approved by the negotiating committee, the membership employed by USX, and the union's International Executive Board.
 The current agreement expires Jan. 31, 1994.
