STATUS GAME TO RE-ENTER MARKET PENDING CONNECTICUT APPROVAL
NEWINGTON, Conn., April 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Status Game Corporation today announced that it was prepared to re-enter the video gaming machine market should the State of Connecticut approve the operation of such machines.
During the mid 1980's the company had made a significant investment in video gaming machine development but was never fully able to capitalize on its efforts due to strong competition from established manufacturers.
According to Lawrence Dunn, president, "The product is already there all we have to do is dust it off and upgrade the technology." The company is currently licensed in Nevada to manufacture and distribute gaming machines and several of its games including video poker, blackjack, keno and craps have been approved for sale within that state.
At one time the company employed 60 people in its manufacturing operations in Connecticut. The number in Connecticut now stands at six. "Should the legislature approve gaming machines it could provide an opportunity for us to add manufacturing jobs in Connecticut", Dunn stated. He continued, "If the state does approve the operation of gaming machines the best place in the world to have them built is right here in Connecticut."
