STATE TO ACCEPT JOB APPLICATIONS FOR FORD'S KENTUCKY TRUCK PLANT

LOUISVILLE, Ky., Jan. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Ford Motor Company's (NYSE: F) Kentucky Truck Plant (KTP) is announcing application procedures for about 600 new hourly production jobs.
They will be among approximately 1,400 eventual new hires for an already announced $650 million, one million-square-foot expansion and retooling of the plant on Chamberlain Lane to build additional truck models.
Employees selected will begin work in approximately June of this year.
An advertisement in the Louisville Courier-Journal Sunday, Jan. 17, will describe the application procedures. Ford, an equal-opportunity employer, is working closely with the Kentucky Department of Employment Services (KYDES) on hiring. Any inquiries should go to that agency.
Ford and KYDES have developed an application procedure which requires interested individuals to mail post cards with name, social security number, address and telephone number to the Kentucky Department for Employment Services, Ford Motor Company Employment Program, P.O. Box 3487, Louisville, Ky. 40201-3487. The cards must be postmarked no later than Monday, Feb. 1.
The KYDES will forward to interested parties application forms which they will be asked to complete and return to KYDES. The most qualified applicants will be tested, evaluated and interviewed. Best qualified applicants selected from that group will participate in pre-employment education and familiarization, prior to receiving a job offer.
