STATE SUPERINTENDENT ROBERT SCHILLER SPEAKS AT THE ANNUAL MEETING
 OF THE BUSINESS EDUCATION ALLIANCE
Newly appointed State Superintendent Robert Schiller, Ph.D., will discuss "Michigan and School Reform: Reviving The Spirit" May 21 at the annual meeting of the Business Education Alliance (BEA), an affiliate of the Greater Detroit Chamber of Commerce. BEA serves as the home base of the Detroit Compact and as the main vehicle for business involvement in education.
Schiller, 44, most recently had been Delaware's deputy superintendent of schools. He is praised for his intelligence, ability to work with people, ability to identify ways to implement goals, and the freshness he can bring due to his experience in other states. This is his first major presentation in the metro Detroit area.
The meeting will begin at 8 a.m. at Chamber headquarters, 600 W. Lafayette, downtown Detroit. George Bashara, vice president, general counsel and secretary, Federal-Mogul Corporation, will preside over the meeting.
Schiller's presentation will begin about 8:30 a.m. Refreshments will be served preceding the meeting at 7:30 a.m.
Media representatives are welcome to attend.
