Green gone: The local radio-industry grapevine was buzzing Wednesday with news that longtime talk-radio KABC-AM (790) president and general manager George Green was leaving his post, apparently as a result of the Walt Disney Co.'s reorganization of its newly purchased ABC Radio Networks.

Green's position has been filled by Maureen Lesourd, who was previously senior vice president of affiliate relations for the ABC Television Network. She will also take over as general manager of rock radio KLOS-FM (95.5), whose last head honcho Honcho

In addition, talker Tom Leykis is soon to be off the air at KABC KABC Kaufman Assessment Battery for Children  sister station KMPC-AM (710), which carried his nationally syndicated show for two years. Beginning May 9, conservative talk host Michael Reagan's syndicated program will take Leykis' weekday afternoon slot.

``We want to take that time period in a new direction,'' said KMPC operations manager Al Brady Law. ``Reagan's issues-oriented program is more consistent with the rest of our programming day.''

But Leykis, who is heard on about 200 stations across the country, said the real reason his contract is not being renewed is, ``KMPC is going all-conservative, even though they'll deny it and say they just want to talk about politics.''

Leykis said he was talking to other stations in the area about taking his Los Angeles-based show.

Green, who has been with KABC for 35 years, will become vice president, sales training, for the ABC Radio Division.
