STARS GET SECOND WIN STARS 133, INDIANA 128.Byline: Daily News Curtis Staples scored 23 points and led a second half comeback as the American Basketball Association Stars rallied for a 133-128 victory Thursday night over the Indiana Legends at the Forum. Trailing by 12 at halftime, the Stars tightened their defense while Eddrick Bohannon made his presence felt inside. After getting 70 points in the first half, Indiana got only 58 in the second. Former UCLA standout Toby Bailey sparked the scond half comeback with six fourth-quarter points to hold off a late Indiana rally. It was the second win in two games for Paul Westhead's Stars. The Stars play their first road game on Saturday, meeting the San Diego WildFire at the Sports Arena. Coach LaSalle Thompson's team opened its season Wednesday with a loss to the Stars. San Diego meets Indiana at home tonight. |
