 - Lancaster Elks Lodge 1625 held its annual Flag Day ceremony June 10 at the lodge.

The program began with a flag-changing ceremony in front of the lodge by the Emblem Club 76 ladies, Girl Scout Troop 116 and officers of the Elks lodge.

Shirley Franzen of the Emblem Club explained the evolution of the American flag. Twelve-year-old Alyssa J. Rossi sang ``The Star-Spangled Banner'' and ``God Bless America.''

The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (BPOE; also often known as the Elks Lodge or simply The Elks), is an American fraternal order and social club founded in 1868.
