On Friday, about six military moms and wives of veterans decorated the 12-foot-tall tree and talked about the bond they share.

``The kids, they don't give the moms a lot of good information,'' said Tina Perez, vice president of a local chapter of Blue Star Mothers of America. ``They'll tell the dads all the good stuff, or stuff that won't make us cry, let's say.''

Today, two local chapters of Blue Star Mothers and an organization called Prayer Angels for the Military will welcome the community to join in a ceremony around the newly decorated Christmas tree.
