STAKEOUT NETS ARMED EX-CON AT DRUG-LAB HOME.

 was manufacturing methamphetamine in his trailer on Avenue L and 85th Street West but were unsure as to whether he was at the location.

So, dressed in camouflage clothing, Sgt. Pat Nelson and Deputy Gary Brody staked out the home while a third deputy obtained a search warrant for the trailer.

Believing he was being watched, Manning armed himself with a .357 magnum revolver and began searching the bushes. When he came across the deputies hiding in the bushes, they ordered him to the ground and disarmed dis·arm

After a search of the trailer, investigators found cooking equipment for large batches of methamphetamine and a large amount of the finished product as well as a library of books including ``Secrets of Making Methamphetamine'' and several chemistry books. Deputies said Manning was wanted on a $90,000 warrant on charges of possessing drugs and a gun at the same time, being an ex-convict with a firearm and being in receipt of stolen property, all of which are felony charges.
