Independent Publishing was established in 1993 by former Cahners executive Edward Landon when he acquired the rights and circulation list to Food & Drug Packaging from Advanstar Communications. Advanstar had already ceased publication of the title. Launched in 1959, it is now published monthly with a controlled circulation of 75,000 packaging professionals. Launched in 1995, Brand Packaging is published six times a year with a controlled circulation of 35,000 brand and product managers. Editorial focuses on the marketing of packaged products with coverage of packaging strategies, consumer preferences, market trends, and international developments.

Flexible Packaging, started in 1999, is a monthly with a controlled circulation of 15,000 professionals involved in the manufacturing of flexible packaging. The Journal for Packaging Professionals, launched this year, is designed to allow technical, engineering and management packaging professionals share information with their peers. Editorial covers all markets while focusing on the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, health, electronics and furniture segments. It will be published quarterly in 2001 with a controlled circulation of 12,000.
