The drama ``Mr. Rickey Calls a Meeting,'' an examination of racial issues in the 1940s, will open the 80th season of the Pasadena Playhouse The Pasadena Playhouse is a historic theatre located in Pasadena, California. History
The Playhouse's history began in 1917 when actor/director Gilmor Brown began producing a season of plays at an old burlesque house, which he renamed the Savoy.

    Two other productions will round out the season: Peter Shaffer's classic ``Equus'' and ``The Emotions Starring in `Bigger Than Bubble Gum,' '' a new musical. It's the story of the r&b sister act the Emotions (Wanda, Sheila and Jeanette Hutchinson), which scored hits in the '70s and '80s with ``Best of My Love,'' ``Boogie Wonderland'' and ``Don't Want to Lose Your Love.''

    Tarantino gets `Ha!'

    ``Pulp Fiction'' director and Hollywood hipster Quentin Tarantino has acquired the film rights to comic Julia Sweeney's one-woman show ``God Said, `Ha!' '' which closes at the Coronet Theatre in West Hollywood on Aug. 25.

    Harboring theatrical aspirations?

    The Cabrillo Music Theatre in Simi Valley will hold auditions for its production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's biblical musical ``Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat'' the weekend of Aug. 3-4.

    On Saturday, producers will look at those trying out for the roles of the narrator NARRATOR. A pleader who draws narrs serviens narrator, a sergeant at law. Fleta, 1. 2, c. 37.
