Christina Christina (krĭstē`nə), 1626–89, queen of Sweden (1632–54), daughter and successor of Gustavus II. From her father's death (1632) until 1644 she was under a regency headed by Chancellor Axel Oxenstierna.  Zicarelli wasn't exactly sure why she asked her dad, Pat ``Ziggy'' Zicarelli, to do lunch with her Wednesday at St. Mel Catholic School for a celebration of Special Person Day, as part of the annual celebration of National Catholic Schools Week.

``Well, I'm Daddy's girl, that's the reason I asked him to come to my school today,'' the third-grader said on further reflection. ``We ate the lunch that he brought. Then he went and tossed basketballs to my friends at the basketball court. I had fun and I know he had fun doing that with my friends,'' the 9-year-old said proudly.

The 40-year-old school's observance this year began with an appreciation day for Monsignor Padraic Loftus, the pastor at St. Mel Church, a school spirit day and will end Friday with teacher appreciation day.

Sister Monica Quigley admitted to hearing jokes about Catholic schools, education and teachers. But the teaching veteran said Catholic educators always have strived to educate the whole child.

``This is our third year to encourage our students to bring a special person in to tour the school. It's one of the special days where we can highlight the specialness of our school and our commitment to restoring faith in education.''

``It's such a good school academically. It doesn't matter where people live, the word is that the school does an excellent job of preparing the students for high school and college.''
