ST. FRANCIS GOES ON DEFENSIVE GOLDEN KNIGHTS SHUT DOWN C.V.'S OFFENSE ST. FRANCIS 37, CRESCENTA VALLEY 6.

GLENDALE -- Crescenta Valley The Crescenta Valley is a small inland valley in Los Angeles County, California. Its name derives from its crescent-like shape, with the convex portion facing roughly northeast and the concave portion southwest.  High of La Crescenta mounted one impressive drive all game against St. Francis of La Canada Flintridge, but the Falcons' lone march to the end zone in the second quarter Friday night was enough cause for concern in the Golden Knights' locker room at halftime.

``We're 16-6 at the half and that's a ballgame right there,'' St. Francis coach Jim Bonds Jim L. Bond (born 1936) is a minister and emeritus general superintendent in the Church of the Nazarene.  said. ``(In the second half) we didn't want to give them any hope.''

St. Francis limited the Falcons to one offensive yard in the final 24 minutes en route to a 37-6 nonleague victory at Glendale High's Moyse Field, improving to 15-5 all-time in the ``Battle for Foothill Boulevard'' series.
