The St. Francis of La Canada Flintridge quarterback had watched his team turn a 10-point, second-half lead into a four-point deficit, and he had just more than six minutes to rectify rec·ti·fy

a 24-21 come-from-behind victory over Burroughs of Burbank at St.Francis High.

``Hey, that drive wasn't just me. The offensive line stepped up huge,'' said Collis, who finished 17 of 23 for 212 yards and two touchdowns, including the winning touchdown pass to Kevin Bessolo from 5 yards out with less than two minutes remaining.

``We had a lot of guys who were banged up there, but we're a team of character, and we hung in there for the win,'' Collis said.

quarterback Corey Howard was picked off by Golden Knights defensive back Austin Heyworth with 18 seconds remaining.

The Indians, which trailed 17-7 at halftime but dominated for much of the second half, were led by running back Joe Wiggan, who finished with 141yards on 21 carries and two touchdowns.

But Wiggan's 9-yard touchdown run to give the Indians a 21-17 lead with 6:02 remaining was not enough, as Collis rallied the Golden Knights.

``These guys stepped up big,'' St. Francis coach Jim Bonds Jim L. Bond (born 1936) is a minister and emeritus general superintendent in the Church of the Nazarene.  said after the Golden Knights improved to 3-0. ``I told them this would be a dogfight coming in, and that's exactly what it was.''
