 ST. AMOUR ELECTED PRESIDENT OF PUBLIC RELATIONS SOCIETY
 PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- The Philadelphia Chapter of


the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) has elected a relative newcomer as president this year.
 Jeffrey St. Amour, APR, 36, senior communications consultant, The Alexander & Alexander Consulting Group, Inc., has recently begun activities as the new chapter president for 1992. A PRSA member since 1983, St. Amour last year chaired the Student Liaison Committee of the Philadelphia PRSA Chapter.
 1991 chapter President Barry K. Brinster, executive vice president/ director, Ketchum Public Relations, said PRSA board members were impressed by St. Amour's energy and effectiveness. "Jeff has an excellent reputation in the Philadelphia business community and he has shown an impressive ability to get things done for the Philadelphia PRSA chapter," Brinster said. "Moreover, he's the first non-agency person to lead the group in at least eight years," he added.
 St. Amour has already established several principal goals for the Public Relations Society this year, including making the monthly professional luncheons more beneficial to new members and students. "I've asked the chairpersons of every PRSA committee to recommend ways to address the needs of both the junior and senior people in the public relations industry," he said.
 At The Alexander & Alexander Consulting Group, St. Amour is responsible for all employee communication consulting services provided by the firm in the Delaware Valley. His current assignments include interactive communications, strategic communications planning and flex benefits to employees.
 Prior to joining Alexander & Alexander, St. Amour was vice president of marketing for BDI, a major Philadelphia-based employee benefit consulting firm. He also served as director of public relations/ communications for Borel New York, a division of a Fortune 500 company.
 He earned a bachelor's in U.S. political history and secondary education from Villanova University in 1980, and is an honors graduate of the Charles Morris Price School of Advertising and Journalism in Philadelphia. St. Amour has received the national accreditation from the Public Relations Society of America, APR.
 He received the New York Governor's Commendation Award in 1987, and an Award of Merit from the International Associate of Business Communicators in 1991. He is a member of the board of directors of the Make-A-Wish Foundation in Philadelphia as well as chairing their public relations and fund-raising committees. He also does volunteer public relations work for Children's Hospital and the American Paralysis Associates.
