SQUEEZE PLAY A.V. FREEWAY WORK SHUTS ADDITIONAL LANE.

Byline: Daily News

ACTON - Antelope Valley Freeway The Antelope Valley Freeway is a freeway in Los Angeles and Kern counties in southern California. It is signed as California State Highway 14 along its length. It connects Greater Los Angeles to the rapidly developing Antelope Valley.  travelers were having headaches Wednesday as construction crews tied up an additional lane of traffic.

The work south of the Pearblossom Highway exit is part of the $25 million construction project to add a car-pool lane in each direction between Escondido Canyon Road and Pearblossom Highway.

``It's narrowed down and just not enough lanes for the traffic,'' said California Highway Patrol highway patrol

It often refers to networks that are overloaded, which is caused by the inability of the hardware and transmission lines to support the traffic. It can also refer to a mismatch inside the computer where slower-speed peripheral buses and devices prevent the CPU .''

Motorist should move over sooner, he said.

Caltrans officials were unable Wednesday to say how long the lane closure in that area would last. Similar lane closures will occur up and down the freeway as the work progresses, Caltrans plans show.

In most cases, Caltrans officials say, lanes are supposed to be closed at night or at midday, but can stretch into busier times if workers run into problems.

The entire car-pool lane project is scheduled to be finished by January 2003, Caltrans says.
