SPRINT RESPONSE TO AT&T LAWSUIT

WASHINGTON, Feb. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Sprint (NYSE: FON) issued the following statement:
"AT&T's lawsuit is an obvious reaction to increasing competition in the marketplace, and an attempt to counter the success Sprint has achieved. AT&T continues its tactic of attempting to create fear and confusion in the minds of customers -- this time on the eve of 800 number portability. We are not intimidated and we do not believe our customers will be. The court order that AT&T purports to rely on just became effective a few days ago, and involves only a technical paperwork requirement.
"Sprint will continue to offer creative and flexible services to its customers while maintaining the best overall value in the marketplace."
