SPRINT ANNOUNCES FIRST-EVER SATISFACTION GUARANTEE FOR 800 SERVICES

WASHINGTON, Feb. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Sprint (NYSE: FON) today announced a satisfaction-or-your-money-back guarantee to business customers who use Sprint's 800 services. The guarantee -- known as Sprint Secure Satisfaction Guarantee -- is an industry first.
"Service and reliability are absolutely crucial for businesses in the 1990s," said Gerry Euston, vice president, business product marketing. "Offering Sprint customers guaranteed satisfaction is a dramatic way to show that we sincerely believe Sprint 800 products are the best in the industry and we're willing to stand behind them."
Sprint Secure offers customers total peace of mind. If a new customer isn't satisfied with Sprint's 800 service within 90 days of purchase, Sprint will refund the customer's money, including the monthly recurring charge, the access line charge, and usage charges up to $50,000 per company (excluding taxes).
"We understand how vital 800 business service is to customers," Euston said. "That's why Sprint's 800 services are second-to-none."
Sprint Secure Satisfaction Guarantee covers the performance of all domestic 800 services and even enhanced Sprint TeleMedia services.
Eligible Sprint customers will be reimbursed with this guarantee for one of the following documented 800 service conditions:
-- An out-of-service situation adversely affecting their business
-- A copy of an invoice noting a billing discrepancy
-- An 800 product or feature not meeting customer expectations.
Sprint Secure is available to any business, including Sprint's current customers who are not currently using Sprint's 800 services.
Another aspect of Sprint Secure is the new Service Guarantee:
-- If a customer is ever unable to receive calls on a Sprint 800
number, Sprint will reroute service to a preferred alternative
 location within 30 minutes.
-- If 800 service is not rerouted within 30 minutes, Sprint will
credit the customer's monthly service fee.
"Sprint's 800 Service Guarantee is yet another example of Sprint's commitment to its 800 customers," Euston said. "Sprint's 800 services are ready for AT&T customers who have been shackled by their inability to change carriers while keeping the same 800 number."
No other interexchange carrier offers as extensive or encompassing a guarantee as Sprint. "We're putting our money where our mouth is," said Euston. "Only Sprint has the confidence, the service quality and the reliability to offer a true money-back guarantee."
Sprint Secure is part of Sprint's aggressive strategy to gain customers in the 800 market in anticipation of May 1993 Federal Communications Commission changes that will allow customers to switch 800 service from one long-distance carrier to another without having to give up their existing 800 number(s). Companies will be able to shop for the best 800 service, while retaining their current 800 number that has been advertised and promoted to customers and prospects.
"The introduction of real choice among carriers will lead to the rapid introduction of a number of new services," said Euston.
"Sprint is committed to providing uncompromised, flexible solutions for our customers to help make running their businesses easier. Sprint Secure is another example of how Sprint is delivering on this commitment."
Complete terms of the 800 service guarantee programs are available from Sprint. Some conditions may apply.
