Jo Erickson, who directs the production, was a founder of the Granada Theatre and said the decision to leave the current location was difficult but necessary. The theater troupe leases the site and the rent has just gotten too high to continue producing shows there, Erickson said. Theater officials are seeking another place where the group can produce shows, but nothing has been found yet. The Granada Theatre started in 1980 and originally did shows at the Granada Hills Woman's Club on White Oak Avenue, south of Chatsworth Street, Erickson said. The group then moved to a storefront on Balboa Balboa, town (1990 pop. 2,751), Colón prov., in the former Panama Canal Zone, on the Gulf of Panama. However, with monthly rent climbing to $15,000, theater representatives knew they had to move. ``The Prisoner of Second Avenue'' will be presented at 8 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and 1:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sundays.
