 Sorority sorority: see fraternity.  Inc. held its fifth graduation ceremony of the Delta Academy, a mentoring program for African-American girls ages 11-14.

Since January the girls have met on Saturday mornings at Agape agape

In the New Testament, the fatherly love of God for humans and their reciprocal love for God. The term extends to the love of one's fellow humans. The Church Fathers used the Greek term to designate both a rite using bread and wine and a meal of fellowship that included
 Community Church to participate in a variety of activities that emphasized scholarship, community service and sisterhood sisterhood: see monasticism. .

Highlights of this year's program included a three-day trip to Sacramento to represent the local chapter at a legislative youth forum, an HIV/AIDS HIV/AIDS Human Immunodeficiency Virus/Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome  workshop, a book club and an etiquette workshop.

The graduation ceremony featured a talent showcase by the graduates, a slide show of this year's activities and announcement of the graduate nominated for the presidential academy at the sorority's national convention in Atlanta.

Dominique Sneed will represent the local chapter in July during workshops for academy graduates from throughout the country. In addition to the workshops, presidential academy participants will have an opportunity to visit historic sites in Atlanta and tour several historically African- American colleges.

Other 2002 graduates included: Jasmine Brown, Nia Bullett, Kendra Bullocks, Ashley Haynes Jolise Jackson, Elisha Johnson, Simone Lindsey, Kari L. Lott, Mia Montgomery, Jasmine Nelson, Adoria J. Reaux, Dana Smith, Ryan Smith For the hockey player see Ryan Smyth.

The culminating event for the chapter's 2001-2002 sorority year will be Jabberwock 2002 on Saturday at New Vista Middle School.

Jabberwock is a scholarship fund-raiser that will showcase 11th- and 12th-grade girls from local high schools. Involved in a myriad of activities since March, one of the nine contestants will be crowned Miss Jabberwock and win a college scholarship based on raising the most ads for the event's souvenir booklet.

In addition to talent presentations by the contestants, the program will also feature performances by other individuals and groups. Tickets for the fund-raiser are $7.50 for adults and $5 for children under 12.
