NEW YORK, July 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Sports Media Inc.

(NASDAQ: SPTS) announced today that Jeffrey S. Butler has been named chairman of the board and chief executive officer.
Butler founded East/West Network Inc. in 1968, which became the world's largest publisher of in-flight magazines for the airline seat pocket. East/West Network Inc., with offices in 10 major cities, generated revenues annually in excess of $50 million. Over a 23-year period, the company published in-flight magazines for 19 different airlines, including United, Pan Am, TWA, Delta, Northwest, Continental, Eastern and most all regional carriers prior to their mergers such as PSA, Republic, Ozark and others.
Butler stated, "Sports Media Inc. represents a great challenge and stands ready to serve the over 200 professional sports teams in the United States alone." In addition to the expanded New York operations, the company plans to open advertising sales offices in Chicago and Los Angeles and is evaluating other major cities for growth in the near future.
Sports Media Inc. produces yearbooks and other sports publishing products for professional NFL, NHL and NBA teams.
