Same old story

Last year I wrote a letter to Sound Off regarding Brandi Davis and her limited playing time.

Once again, I'm wondering why a 2005 two-time Pac-10 player of the week is still not getting any playing time. And now, add Kristen Forristall (an all-Pac-10 freshman) to the mix.

If losing to Stanford was due to poor defense on Candace Wiggins, or because of failure to handle the press, why not at least give Brandi and Kristen a chance to show they could have been a factor, both offensively and defensively?

It would be nice, also, if the coaching staff could give us, the paying public, a reason for the bench sitting that is understandable.

Brandi Davis has proven herself to be an excellent player while at Oregon. She ranks third on Oregon's all-time list for three-pointers, last year was Pac-10 player of the week twice (only two other Oregon players have been awarded this honor) and can bring life to the game when she comes on the court with her speed and quickness.

and led the team to state championships three years, and was a McDonald's high school all-American. As a freshman at Oregon, she was named to the Pac-10 all-freshman team and played some very good ball during the season.

And let's remember that Oregon had a senior all-American, Shaquala Williams, who was kicked off the team. It is very interesting that all this talent available to the Oregon program has not been put to use, as all three of these players can light up the scoreboard and are go-to players. You have to wonder why, so let's look elsewhere other than the players.

As I watched the Ducks celebrate their victory over Arizona, I was so pleased to see the joy on Ivan's face. He finally experienced what being a Duck is all about - playing together as a team even when the odds may be against you and triumphing in front of the loyal fans at Mac Court.
