Chargers close season with 152-143 victory

DENVER - Larry Morinia, JR Patrick, Jay Anderson and Ethnie Stubbs scored 25 points apiece to lead the Eugene Chargers The Eugene Chargers are an expansion team in the International Basketball League (2005-) based in Eugene, Oregon. The team is coached by Kenya Wilkins and plays home games at Northwest Christian College's Morse Events Center.  to a 152-143 victory over the Colorado Crossover The Colorado Crossover are a professional basketball team in the International Basketball League. Based in Lakewood, Colorado, the Crossover began play in 2006. The Crossover are owned by Crossover Ministries and play their home games at Colorado Christian University.  in the Chargers' season finale on Sunday.

The Chargers finished their inaugural season 13-7, good for at least a tie for third place in their division.

Eric Dow scored 53 points for Colorado.

Thunder tie for eighth at national qualifier

SALEM - The California Breeze of Sacramento scored four runs in the third inning, three of them unearned, on the way to a 5-1 victory over the Eugene Thunder at the 14U National Qualifying softball tournament Sunday.

Kayla Braud was 2-for-3 with a double to lead the Thunder (23-6), who were eliminated with the loss and finished in a tie for eighth-place in the 34-team tournament.

The Thunder have two more chances to qualify for the national championships - the state tournament in Junction City Junction City, city (1990 pop. 20,604), seat of Geary co., NE Kans., at the confluence of the Republican and Smoky Hill rivers; inc. 1859. Titans finish third in Roseburg tourney
