Quinney fifth at Nationwide Tour stop

SANDY, Utah Sandy (also known as Sandy City) is a city in Salt Lake County, Utah and a suburb of Salt Lake City. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 88,418. A 2006 estimate placed its population at 94,203, making it the fifth-largest city in Utah.  - Former South Eugene High standout Jeff Quinney Jeffrey Michael Quinney (born November 17, 1978) is an American professional golfer.

Quinney was born in Eugene, Oregon. He had a successful amateur career, winning the U.S. Amateur Championship in 2000, and represented the USA in the Walker Cup in 2001.
 is tied for fifth place at the Nationwide Tour's Utah EnergySolutions Championship The Utah EnergySolutions Championship is a golf tournament on the Nationwide Tour. It is played annually at the Willow Creek Country Club in Sandy, Utah, USA. The tournament is sponsored by EnergySolutions, so was known as the Envirocare Utah Classic  after shooting a first-round 66 on Thursday.

Quinney is tied at 6 under with Aaron Barber and Michael Putnam. Bryce Molder and Scott Parel each shot 64 to tie for the first round lead, and Ken Duke and Craig Lile are each a shot back at 65.

The tour will stop in Eugene for the Oregon Classic at Shadow Hills Country Club on Sept. 21-24.

Ellis receives exemption into Oregon Classic

Former University of Oregon The University of Oregon is a public university located in Eugene, Oregon. The university was founded in 1876, graduating its first class two years later. The University of Oregon is one of 60 members of the Association of American Universities.  golfer John Ellis received a sponsor's exemption to the Nationwide Tour's Oregon Classic, which runs from Sept. 21-24 at Shadow Hills Country Club.

Ellis has had nine top-10 finishes on the Canadian and Spanos tours this season.

Brown's hat trick leads Owls past NCC NCC

SPRINGFIELD - Sarah Brown scored a hat trick to lead Oregon Tech to a 4-0 women's college soccer victory over Northwest Christian College Northwest Christian College is a private, liberal arts college located in Eugene, Oregon and is affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the Independent Christian Churches/Churches of Christ.  on Thursday at the Morrisette Soccer Fields.

Brown scored her first goal on a rebound 7 minutes into the match, and scored off another deflection in the 26th minute to give the Owls a 2-0 lead.

Katie O'Brien made it a 3-0 game just before halftime when she scored on a high shot to the upper-right corner of the net.

Brown completed the hat trick by scoring in the 77th minute over NCC goalkeeper Beth McAlister.
