A driver on a hot streak, Danny Lasoski Danny "The Dude" Lasoski (born February 3, 1959) is a race car driver from Dover, Missouri.

Most of his experience is in the World of Outlaws series, winning the WoO championship in 2001, and finishing second four times, in 1999, 2001, 2003, and 2004.
, headlines the field when the National Sprint Tour The National Sprint Tour was a sprint car racing league. It formed in 2005 as a rival to the World of Outlaws. The series folded after one season. The series was started by Brownfield Promotions, Inc. of Snohomish, Washington. The series featured 410 winged sprint cars.  visits Cottage Grove Speedway this evening.

Gates open for ticket sales at noon, with time trials beginning at 5:30 p.m. and racing at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $35 for fans 13 and over, and $20 for children aged 4 through 12.

Lasoski won the Cottage Grove Speedway event last year; his closest challenger this year, Steve Kinser Steve Kinser (born June 2, 1954, Bloomington, Indiana), is a professional sprint car racer. He has won 20 championships in the World of Outlaws (WoO) series, and currently drives the #11 Quaker State car. , won in 2004.

 races at Grays Harbor Grays Harbor is an estuarine bay located 45 miles north of the mouth of the Columbia River, on the southwest Pacific coast of Washington State, in the United States of America. The bay is 15 miles long and 11 miles wide.  Raceway in Elma, Wash., last weekend. He's finished in the top 10 in 33 of the first 34 races this season, with nine victories.

Kinser finished second and third in the Grays Harbor Raceway events over the weekend. Other NST drivers racing at Cottage Grove include Jason Meyers, Jason Sides, Jason Solwold, Brian Paulus, Kerry Madsen, Dean Jacobs and Shane Stewart.

"It has always been a good track," Lasoski said of Cottage Grove Raceway.

Birdie sends Myrmo to U.S. Senior Amateur

WARRENTON - Erik Myrmo of Eugene rolled in a birdie on the first playoff hole to win the second sectional qualifying spot for the U.S. Senior Amateur at Astoria Golf and Country Club on Monday.

Myrmo tied for second with Bruce Bye of Aloha and Dick Iverson of Lake Oswego with 2-under 70s, four shots behind winner Ken Forster of Salem. Myrmo and Forster advance to the national championships at Victoria National Golf Club in Newburgh, Ind., on Sept. 16-21.
