Haas triumphs in Nationwide Tour event

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Hunter Haas won the Nationwide Tour's Knoxville Open for the second time in three years, closing with a 3-under 69 on Sunday for a five-stroke victory.

Haas finished with a 19-under 269 total on the Fox Den course.

Former Eugene resident Jeff Quinney Jeffrey Michael Quinney (born November 17, 1978) is an American professional golfer.

Quinney was born in Eugene, Oregon. He had a successful amateur career, winning the U.S. Amateur Championship in 2000, and represented the USA in the Walker Cup in 2001.
 shot a 4-under-par 68 to finish at 6-under 282 for the tournament.

State women's amateur tourney opens today

PORTLAND - Eight-time champion Mary Budke of Eugene and former University of Oregon The University of Oregon is a public university located in Eugene, Oregon. Elmira, Douglas pitchers earn all-star honors

Kyle Miller of North Marion was 3-for-6 with a triple, double, two runs scored and two RBIs in the series en route to the overall MVP award.

SALEM - Becky Sisley set an unofficial 65-69 American age-group record in the heptathlon on Sunday with a total of 5,477 points at the USATFF Oregon Masters Combined Events Championships at Willamette University.

Sisley, who highlighted her effort with a mark of 91-9 in the javelin, bettered her own record of 5,089.
