SPORT OF KINGS REPORTS OPERATIONS RESULTS

LAS VEGAS, Nov. 19 ~PRNewswire~ -- Sport of Kings, Inc. (NASDAQ: ODDS), which opened its race and sports book facility in Las Vegas on Oct. 12, 1992, today announced its financial results from its first 30 days of operations.
Through Nov. 12, 1992, the company suffered gaming losses of $213,546 in its race book operations and gaming losses of $662,557 in its sports book. Management indicated, however, that a substantial part of such losses were suffered during the initial two weeks of operations before certain changes were made in its operations.
"Since the first few weeks, we have adopted certain measures to limit our exposure in both race and sports and we have recently started to offer pari-mutuel wagering to customers at the race book. As a result, we have had an improvement in results which we are encouraged will continue," reported Dennis L. Amerine, president of the company.
The company also reported that the amount of volume during the initial 30 days of operations of the Sport of Kings has exceeded projections by approximately 14 percent.
In conjunction with implementing pari-mutuel wagering, the company intends to expand its fixed-odds wagering opportunities and introduce new forms of exotic wagering. Management believes the expansion of fixed-odds wagering and the offering of pari-mutuel wagering allows the Sport of Kings to closely parallel the British style of wagering which management believes is consistent with its long term plans.
The company also announced that it is in the process of trying to strengthen its financial position and has begun discussions with certain entities in connection therewith. No assurance can be given, however, the company will be able to arrange any additional financing or that its business will ultimately be a success.
