The Antelope Valley Mall's food court will fill with singing, dancing monsters every Saturday evening through Halloween. Fifteen performers costumed as mad scientists, vampires, werewolves, Frankenstein's monster Frankenstein’s monster living man created by a physiology student from body parts. [Br. Lit. and his bride, and other frightful creatures will sing and dance to rock and pop hits from the '50s, '60s and '70s - songs such as ``Unchained Melody,'' ``YMCA YMCA in full Young Men's Christian Association Nonsectarian, nonpolitical Christian lay movement that aims to develop high standards of Christian character among its members. ,'' ``At the Hop'' and ``Proud Mary.'' ``It's a family show,'' said director Krystal A. Cutler. ``A lot of little kids will be here, so we've made it more fun than scary.'' The Haunting Melodies concerts are part of a dinner theater program organized by Cutler for the past two years at the food court. Haunting Melodies will be her last. ``I had the idea of dinner theater a couple of years ago, and this is just an extension of that idea,'' said Cutler. ``I'm transferring to Kansas, so this will be the last thing we do here.'' Performances are every Saturday at 5 p.m. at the Oasis Food Court at the mall's north entrance. The Oct. 31 show will be the last. Based on the popularity of previous dinner theater events, Cutler has suggested that people arrive early to get a seat. ``We've had standing room only the last few shows, and this one should be just as big,'' Cutler said.
