YoYo Greenfield never slowed down even when she saw the car in front of her. Seconds later, she was sprawled on the ground.

The 4-year-old was racing her father, who had run just fast enough that his sprinting daughter would barely win. The family car was the finish line. Greenfield was so determined to win that she hit the vehicle at full speed.

, Greenfield quickly popped up and proudly declared, ``I won.''

Greenfield, now a junior on Harvard-Westlake of Studio City's girls' basketball team, has become one of the area's premier players because of that drive to succeed.

``Once she became passionate (about basketball), it was just nonstop HP's brand name for its fault-tolerant servers, which range in size from four CPUs to 4,000 CPUs. The NonStop line was created by Tandem Computers, which was acquired by Compaq, which later became part of HP. ,'' Harvard-Westlake coach Melissa Hearlihy said. ``She just can't get enough "Just Can't Get Enough" is the third UK single by Depeche Mode originally released on September 7 1981. It was also the band's first single to be released in the United States, on February 18 1982. . Wanting to get better is truly her passion, her desire, her love.''

Harvard-Westlake is one of the favorites in the competitive Mission League, thanks to Greenfield, who missed most of last season after undergoing shoulder surgery. The Wolverines, 8-12 without her last year, were 2-2 after she returned, handing Mission champ Notre Dame Notre Dame IPA: [nɔtʁ dam] is French for Our Lady, referring to the Virgin Mary. Greenfield didn't start playing basketball until she was in sixth grade, but she was a starter and first-team all-league and second-team All-Southern Section player by her freshman year. Street and Smith's made her an honorable mention All-America after she took part last summer in the adidas Elite 100 camp for the nation's top 100 players.

She also played for adidas FBC See fully buzzword compliant.  Blue, one of the nation's best club teams, which has produced six McDonald's All-Americans.

She hit a 3-pointer with five seconds remaining in the semifinals of a major tournament against a Dallas club with seven potential NCAA NCAA

``She was hitting big shots and big free throws against some of the nation's top players and in front of 200 college coaches, and she handled it all with poise,'' FBC coach Stan Delus said. ``That's when I knew she was ready for the next level.''

Greenfield was a five-time national tae kwan do champion from age 7 to 11. The sport taught her discipline and a good work ethic work ethic

Harvard-Westlake practices six days of week under Hearlihy. Greenfield trains with Delus, also the coach at Canyon High of Canyon Country, on Sundays. Working with Delus has enabled her to practice with some of the area's best players, such as Oak Park grad Lyndsey Medders, Iowa State's second-leading scorer as a junior this season.

Delus' players train together so they can learn from each other's strengths. He uses Greenfield when teaching about ballhandling, an important skill for the 5-foot-5 point guard. She has long been held up as an example; Greenfield appears in youth exercise videotapes produced by her father and a videotape of the children's version of martial-arts exercise activity Tae Bo Tae Bo is an aerobic exercise routine developed by tae kwon do practitioner Billy Blanks, and was one of the first "cardio-boxing" programs to enjoy commercial success. Such programs use the motions of martial arts at a rapid pace designed to promote fitness. .

Greenfield is a skilled scorer, especially from behind the 3-point line; she scored 31 points in Harvard- Westlake's season opener.

``I became a lot smarter because I saw how the game worked and how defenses rotate,'' she said. ``And I learned just how much I love basketball.'
