SPIDEY WRAPS UP NEW DVD RECORD SUPERHERO TITLE SINKS 'TITANIC' MARK.

The DVD is a two-disc set in both wide- and full-screen editions and features several interactive elements. In addition to the record shipment figures for North America, an additional 14 million copies of ``Spider- Man'' were shipped worldwide.

The Marvel Comics comic hero-inspired film has grossed more than $800 million worldwide and holds a slew of box-office records, including the largest three-day opening in history ($114.8 million).

``Home entertainment has proven to be virtually recession-proof and we expect industry growth to be 15 (percent) to 20 percent for all video categories this fourth quarter,'' Feingold said.
