SPIDEY ENSNARES EVEN MORE BUCKS RECORD-SETTING BOX OFFICE OPENING $7 MILLION HIGHER THAN ESTIMATED.

The worldwide web spun by "Spider-Man 3" has reached $382 million -- a box office opening record that is $7 million higher than originally estimated, according to according to

That total includes a historic domestic opening of $151 million while revenue from overseas added up to $231 million. In addition to the U.S. record, opening weekend bests were achieved in 28 other countries including Canada, Japan, South Korea, China, Italy, Mexico and Brazil.

Directed by Sam Raimi, "Spider-Man 3" is the third film in a blockbuster movie franchise launched in 2002 that stars Tobey Maguire in the title role.
